After paying homage to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his death anniversary, West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari said, "We regard his death as a conspiratorial murder." Mookerjee had mysteriously died in custody in Srinagar in 1953, after being arrested for entering Jammu and Kashmir without a permit. Mookerjee demanded full integration of J&K into India.
