Syria's first lady Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with blood cancer, the Syrian presidency said on Tuesday. This comes almost five years after she announced that she had fully recovered from breast cancer. The statement said that the 48-year-old, who runs Syria Trust for Development, will undergo a special treatment protocol that would require her to isolate.
