Taiwanese prosecutors detained an Nvidia employee and searched the company's offices in the first known legal action against a chipmaker employee. He is suspected of smuggling Nvidia's AI chips to China, violating US trade restrictions. Authorities were already investigating shipments of Super Micro Computer AI servers with advanced Nvidia chips to China, Macau and Hong Kong.
