Taliban authorities have banned news platforms Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's FM broadcasts in Afghanistan, VOA said. The country's Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Afghanistan has press laws and any network "repeatedly contravening" them won't be allowed to work. The two platforms "failed to show professionalism and were therefore shut down", he added.
