Tamil Nadu is reporting more than 2,000 dog-bite cases every single day. Karnataka is not far behind, at nearly 1,700 daily incidents. Between January and April this year, the two neighbours together logged over 4.68 lakh dog-bite cases and 42 rabies deaths, once again drawing attention to gaps in stray dog management, anti-rabies awareness, and public health preparedness.
