Tamil lyricist and poet Vairamuthu sparked a row after his objectionable remark on Lord Rama while receiving an award named after ancient Tamil poet Kambar, the author of the Tamil version of Ramayana, Kamba Ramayanam. Demanding an apology, BJP's national spokesperson CR Kesavan said Vairamuthu has "perversely misinterpreted the Kamba Ramayanam and called Lord Rama mentally unstable".
