Tarun Garg officially assumed charge as MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on January 1, succeeding Unsoo Kim. With this, he has become the first Indian national to head the Indian arm of South Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), since its inception 29 years ago. Garg was earlier the Chief Operating Officer at HMIL.
