TasteAtlas has sparked a debate by including asafoetida (hing) in its list of the world's stinkiest foods, describing it simply as a "pungent raisin spice" without assigning it a rating. While the spice is known for its strong smell, many Indian food lovers disagreed with the ranking, saying hing adds great flavour to food and should not be called "stinky".
