Tata Electronics has fully acquired Wistron's India business to become the first Indian company to locally assemble Apple iPhones. The deal resulted from PM Modi's PLI scheme focused on establishing India as a global electronics hub. Apple may also leverage Tata's capacity to start manufacturing next-gen iPhones in India before launch.
