Tata Electronics has started building India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, with support from the government and Taiwan’s PSMC. The ₹91,000 crore project will reduce India’s chip import dependence, boost local manufacturing, and create thousands of jobs. The plant is expected to begin chip production by 2026, marking India’s entry into global chipmaking.
