The government on Friday announced that Tata Sons has emerged as the successful bidder for national carrier Air India and has outbid a consortium led by SpiceJet promoter Ajay Singh. Tata Sons had made a financial bid of ₹18,000 crore in September, while Singh-led consortium made a bid of ₹15,100 crore. Tata Sons will get 100% stake in Air India.
