Tata Steel received show-cause-cum-tax-demand notice from tax authorities over alleged irregular availment of input tax credit of ₹1,000 crore between FY19 and FY23. The notice claims the input tax credit was availed in contravention of GST Act. The firm is required to show cause before Additional/Joint Commissioner of Central GST and Excise, Jamshedpur, within 30 days of receiving the notice.
