Teen carves name into 1,200-year-old UNESCO-listed Japanese temple

A 17-year-old Canadian tourist was questioned by police after he allegedly carved his name into a wooden pillar of the 1,200-year-old Toshodaiji Kondo temple in Japan's Nara. As per officials, he carved "Julian" on the pillar of the eighth-century temple, a UNESCO world heritage site, with his nail. The boy later said he had no intention of harming Japanese culture.
