Tejaswin Shankar becomes 1st Indian ever to cross 8,000 points in Decathlon

Indian athlete Tejaswin Shankar created history by becoming the first Indian ever to cross 8,000 points in Decathlon. He secured 8,057 points in the Men's Decathlon at the 29th National Senior Athletics Federation Cup Competition in Ranchi on Saturday, improving his own decathlon national record of 7,826 points. Tejaswin also breached the Commonwealth Games 2026 qualification standard.
