The Telangana State Assembly passed the Telangana Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts in the Services under the State) Bill, 2025. The Bill, tabled in the Assembly earlier, envisaged a 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, education, and employment.
