Despite being the newest state in India, Telangana- bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh in 2014- became the state with the second-highest per capita income in country among large states in 2023-2024, according to the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to the Prime Minister. The per capita income in Telangana is 194 percent compared to the national average, only below Delhi.
