Telangana merges Food and Drug Safety departments under TG SAFE

Telangana has merged its Food Safety and Drug Control departments under a new unified body, TG SAFE. IPS officer Avinash Mohanty has been appointed as its Commissioner. The move aims to strengthen regulation, inspections, testing and enforcement of food, medicines and cosmetics, while improving coordination, intelligence, data systems, laboratories and public health protection across the state.
