Following a heat wave, temperature registered at the North Pole was 20 degrees Celsius (20°C) above the temperatures recorded normally around this time of the year. The temperature at the North Pole rose above the freezing point (0°C) to 0.71°C. Meteorologists claim that this is due to the pressure difference caused by the storm that hit south and mid-west US.
