Tencent infuses $62.8 million in Flipkart, increases stake to 5.34%

Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent has invested $62.8 million in Flipkart through the Indian e-commerce startup's Singapore-based parent entity. With the funding, Tencent increased its stake from 5% to 5.34% which is valued at $1.21 billion. It remained the second-biggest shareholder after Walmart. The funding is reportedly a part of Flipkart’s $1.2 billion round led by Walmart in July.
