Former Team India captain Sunil Gavaskar has said that it's jarring for most Indian fans that James Anderson's name comes before Sachin Tendulkar's in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Calling the alphabetical order argument "lame", he added, "As an Indian, Tendulkar will always be above Anderson." Gavaskar urged Indian fans and media to refer to it as the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy instead.
