UK-based supermarket chain Tesco will unlock one lakh of its coin-operated trolleys as it failed to convert them in time for the new £1 coins. It is feared this will encourage shoppers not to return trolleys as they won't have an incentive. Britain already witnessed a surge in the number of abandoned carts after the plastic bag tax was introduced.
