Tesla is planning to expand its battery research and manufacturing facility in Fremont, California under 'Roadrunner' project, government documents revealed. Workers assigned to this facility, which would operate 24/7, would total 470 of which 400 would "work in shifts". It has applied to the city for permission to build a second floor in its current battery production plant.
