American electric car manufacturer Tesla on Wednesday announced its first profit after 12 consecutive quarterly losses, and only the second profitable quarter in its 13-year history. The company, led by Elon Musk, recorded net income of $21.9 million for the third quarter compared to a loss of $229.9 million a year earlier. Tesla's revenue more than doubled to $2.3 billion.
