Fisker, an American electric vehicle maker and smaller rival to Tesla, filed for bankruptcy protection as deal talks with a big automaker collapsed. Fisker listed estimated assets in the $500 million to $1 billion range and liabilities in the $100 million to $500 million range. Fisker did a rapid cash burn to deliver Ocean SUVs in the US and Europe.
