Elon Musk-led electric carmaker Tesla, which surpassed Toyota in market valuation to become the world's most valuable car company on Wednesday with nearly $208 billion valuation, has never had a profitable year. Musk sent an e-mail to employees on Q2 saying, "Just amazing how well you executed, especially in such difficult times. I am so proud to work with you!"
