Thane Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Aher was allegedly beaten by supporters of NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad on Wednesday. This comes after an audio clip in which Aher purportedly said that he had planned to kill Awhad's family went viral. Aher allegedly said he had hired a sharpshooter for the purpose with the help of gangster Babaji, who's in Tihar jail.
