Reacting to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor welcoming C Rajagopalachari's statue at Rashtrapati Bhavan, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla said Tharoor welcomed the move but it is "sad that some in Congress put Edwards Lutyens above Rajagopalachari". Notably, Congress leader Udit Raj had questioned the move. Rajagopalachari's statue has replaced bust of Lutyens, who was a British architect.
