The Apple model for Zara and H&M

Retailers are aping Apple whose stores are meant to drive brand awareness, not necessarily sales. H&M is measuring store performance by footfalls and time spent, rather than sales, while Zara's parent firm Inditex has spent more money to open fewer stores but has had a 16% bump in sales per square foot.
