Two countries exchange an island every six months

The Pheasant Island, located in the Bidasoa River between France and Spain, is known to switch its sovereignty every six months. Representatives from France and Spain meet on the island to exchange official papers and hand over the island from one country to the other every six months, as part of a 350-year-old agreement.
