A group of Botanists from the University of Calcutta and the University of Kashmir have discovered Melanoseris pendryi, a rare purple herb. Found at altitudes over 4,000m in Sikkim, this unique plant features lavender petals covered in long white hairs. An observation never seen in the Melanoseris genus. With only 32 plants found, researchers are calling for conservation.
