The world's largest fine for an overdue library book is over ₹22,000 ($345.14), according to the Guinness World Records. The amount was paid by Emily Canellos-Simms from the United States, for poetry book 'Days and Deeds', which was checked out of Kewanee Public Library, Illinois in April 1955. The amount was calculated at two cents a day for 47 years.
