The last Nawab of Junagadh, Muhammad Mahabat Khanji III, was an animal lover. Born in 1898, this Nawabzada is most famously known for hosting a lavish wedding for his beloved dog, Roshanara. In 1922, a small fortune of ₹2 crore was spent on Roshanara's wedding to Bobby, a golden retriever. The day of the wedding was declared a state holiday.
