The Slave dynasty: Delhi's first rulers of the Sultanate

The Slave dynasty, also known as the Mamluk dynasty, ruled Delhi from 1206 to 1290. Founded by Qutb-ud-din Aibak after Muhammad Ghori death, it marked the start of the Delhi Sultanate. Later rulers like Iltutmish expanded the empire and strengthened administration. The dynasty is remembered for its role in laying the foundation of Sultanate rule in India.
