Started out as a ‘brain wave’ in 2007 by Mithun Sacheti, a scion of the ‘Jaipur Gems’ founding family, a renowned jewellery business, Carat Lane was envisioned as an ‘online showroom’. TATAs seemed to have built in great synergies with CaratLane Founders, only to be taken care of by its liquidity, preservation of its working capital, and coverage metrics.
