The story of Ambuja Cement's Gujarati roots

Narotam Sekhsaria, a cotton trader from Gujarat laid the foundation of 'Ambuja Cement' in 1983 with Suresh Neotia. Their first plant had a capacity of 7,00,000 tonnes. Ambuja became the first brand to use shipping to transport bulk quantities of cement. The name of the company is based on the ancestral goddess of the founder's family, Mata Ambuj.
