The Unicorn is the national animal of Scotland

The mythical creature Unicorn is known to be the national animal of Scotland. The Unicorn, symbolising purity and freedom, also featured on Scottish gold coins in the 15th century. The 'Royal Coat of Arms' originally featured two unicorns, however, one unicorn was replaced with a lion on the union of Scotland and England, with the lion representing England.
