Mawsynram in Meghalaya is known to be the wettest place in the world based on the average annual rainfall it receives, according to the Guinness World Records. The place receives an annual average rainfall of 11,873 millimetres. The second rainiest place is Cherrapunji in Meghalaya, with an average annual rainfall of 11,430 millimetres.
