Two of the world’s leading chocolate makers– Mars Inc. and Barry Callebaut– say we’re in the midst of a chocolate shortage. This is a result of the fact that we’re eating more chocolate than cocoa being produced by farmers. The biggest problem is diminishing supply of cocoa as West Africa- the major producer of cocoa has been suffering dry weather.
