Thermochemical solar storage could warm Himalayan homes in winter

IIT Bombay researchers have created a solar-powered heating system for the cold Himalayan north using strontium bromide salt. By storing summer solar heat chemically and releasing it in winter, this technology offers a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to diesel heaters for months-long warmth, improving energy access and reducing pollution.
