Income Tax department has revoked the tax-exempt status of Delhi-based think tank Centre for Policy Research (CPR), four months after its license for receiving foreign donations was revoked. CPR President Yamini Aiyar called revocation of the status, which it had for almost five decades, a "debilitating blow". The revocation "strikes at the core of [CPR's] ability to function", Aiyar added.
