Nestled in a deep valley and surrounded by mountains, the picturesque town of Viganella is deprived of sunlight every year for months, from November until February. In 2006, a massive mirror was installed on a mountain nearby, which reflects sunlight onto the town square for six hours each day, providing a much-needed boost of warmth and natural light.
