Several injured as clashes break out in Nagpur amid Aurangzeb tomb row; 20 detained

Two areas in Nagpur - Mahal and Hansapuri - witnessed clashes on Monday which left several injured, following which prohibitory orders were issued and 20 people were detained. The clashes happened amid an agitation by a group seeking the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb. While rumours claimed a holy book was desecrated, police said a photograph was burnt that instigated people.
World's most powerful telescope takes 1st direct image of carbon dioxide outside solar system

The James Webb Space Telescope, the world's most powerful telescope, has captured its first direct images of carbon dioxide gas outside our solar system. It observed it in HR 8799, a multiplanet system 130 light-years away from Earth. The discovery provides strong evidence that giant planets in HR 8799 formed through core accretion, much like Jupiter and Saturn, NASA said.

Professor rapes multiple students at UP college and uploads videos online; FIR filed

An FIR has been filed against a professor of Seth Phool Chand Bagla PG College in UP's Hathras for raping and sexually exploiting multiple students. Police said that Rajneesh Kumar also recorded videos of the acts and uploaded them on websites. The complaint against Kumar, who was serving as geography department head and chief proctor, was submitted anonymously to police.

Gold, silver prices hit all-time high

Gold prices rose ₹1,300 to hit a fresh record high of ₹90,750/10 grams in Delhi on Monday, extending gains for the fourth day in a row, as per the All India Sarafa Association. It had closed at ₹89,450 per 10 grams on Thursday. Silver prices also surged ₹1,300 to hit a fresh all-time high level of ₹1,02,500 per kg.

Orry booked for drinking alcohol at Mata Vaishno Devi base camp

An FIR has been filed against influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, a Russian woman and six others for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for Mata Vaishno Devi. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are prohibited in the area. "Notices will be sent to all accused individuals...instructing them to join the probe," J&K police said.
