Three new katydid species discovered in Jammu & Kashmir

Researchers from Aligarh Muslim University have identified three new species of meadow katydids in J&K. Using Scanning Electron Microscopy, the team distinguished the insects by examining microscopic teeth on their wings used to produce sound. The discovery suggests that Kashmir's diverse landscapes host far more unique insect life than previously documented by scientists.
