Three US Army Humvees costing as much as $220,000 each, were destroyed during an airdrop as the parachutes carrying them to Germany's Hohenfels military base failed. Dropped out from C-130 Hercules transport planes, the vehicles fell down several hundred feet from the sky and crashed into the ground. An Army spokesperson said that an investigation of "highest priority" is underway.
