Thunderstorms cause flash floods in US' Georgia; emergency declared

Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall caused flash flooding in US' Georgia, following which the state Governor Brian P Kemp declared a state of emergency in Chattooga and Floyd Counties. According to Kemp's order, the area received an estimated 12 inches of rainfall which caused rivers to "rise rapidly". The National Weather Service said that the situation is "extremely dangerous and life-threatening".
