A study by Martin Luther University in Germany and the Wildlife Institute of India found lethal control of tigers in India and wolves in Germany is politically driven. Analyzing 44 legislative documents and interviewing 47 experts, researchers concluded that kill-or-no-kill decisions are shaped by the sociocultural context surrounding each species.
