Beijing-based ByteDance, which owns video-sharing platform TikTok, has refuted media reports claiming it was planning an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong as early as the first quarter of next year. ByteDance was last valued at around $75 billion in October 2018 when it closed a $3-billion funding round led by SoftBank, making it the world's most valuable startup.
