TikTok tracks people across the web even if they're not users of the app, The Independent reported citing a report by nonprofit organisation Consumer Reports. TikTok receives information including a person's IP address, web browsing habits and search history. The data "isn't used to group individuals into particular interest categories for other advertisers to target", a TikTok spokesperson said.
