The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the processing deadline to March 31, 2026, for electronically filed income tax returns wrongly marked invalid due to technical errors by CPC-Bengaluru. This move enables eligible taxpayers to receive refunds with interest. However, no refunds will be issued if PAN-Aadhaar linkage is missing, as per existing Income Tax rules.
