Courts cannot set timelines for President and Governors to grant assent to Bills passed by state legislatures, Supreme Court said on Thursday. It, however, added that it would be against interest of federalism if Governor withheld Bills without following due process. SC was answering reference made by President Droupadi Murmu after it imposed three-month deadline to grant assent to Bills.
